Even fewer can boast LEED Gold Certification. How few? CityFlatsHotel Holland was the first hotel in the Midwest to earn this elite certification.
LEED is "an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts."
LEED was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and "provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions." For more details visit www.usgbc.org.
CityFlatsHotel's LEED Gold Certification allows you to satisfy your eco-conscience without offending your sense of style. Over 30% of the materials used to construct the hotel were acquired from local sources and a majority of all seating and décor items were manufactured in our own backyard—at Charter House Innovations on 8th St. in downtown Holland.
