CityFlatsHotel Marks Earth Day with Trees

April 22, 2013

CityFlatsHotel and Georgetown Elementary School will come together today in honor of Earth Day to plant trees at the school. Staff from CityFlats will join kindergarten and first grade students at the school, which is part of Hudsonville Public Schools, for the project.

The group will plant Autumn Blaze Maples. Students will also learn more about Earth Day, and they will receive pre-packaged seedlings from the hotel to take home and plant with their families.

"As a school community, we have sought ways to develop a deeper understanding of how we can have a positive impact on our school and community environment," said Theresa Reagan, principal at Gerogetown Elementary School. "These trees will not only add shade to our community area, they will also help our students to play an active role in bettering our ecosystem. Many thanks to CityFlats for making this project possible."

Both Georgetown Elementary and CityFlats have been committed to staying environmentally conscious since opening their doors.
